This Town Is Small (TTIS) is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Programming Coordinator to support the delivery of our artistic programming and communications. Working closely with the Executive Director, the successful candidate will coordinate the delivery of a pre-established programming timeline and contribute to the overall success of our exhibitions, events, and outreach.

This is primarily an in-person role, with the possibility of one remote workday per week. In-person work includes time in our Charlottetown office and gallery space, as well as occasional errands, supply pickups, and other local tasks essential to program delivery.

The role is four days a week, with occasional evening and weekend work required to support events and programming.

responsibilities

Programming & Events

  • Coordinate and deliver several in-progress exhibitions and events 

    • For example: a solo exhibition by artist Nancy Cole, a community Wearable Art Party (August 15), and preparation for a fall open studio program called Test Press

  • Act as a liaison for artists, partners, and collaborators, providing timely communication and logistical support

  • Assist with the installation and deinstallation of exhibitions and preparation of event spaces

  • Staff the gallery one day per week, and covering additional occasional shifts as needed, welcoming visitors and providing information about the exhibitions and the organization

  • Facilitation or hosting of public programming when needed

  • Communications & Promotion

    • Maintain and update the TTIS website and social media channels

    • Prepare monthly e-newsletters 

    • Liaise with media outlets and community partners

    • Ensure consistent and clear messaging aligned with TTIS’s mandate and values

  • Membership & Administration

    • Maintain membership renewals and records

    • Respond to inquiries from members and the public

    • Contribute to internal documentation, reports, and board communications as required

    • Uphold organizational policies and represent TTIS in a professional and respectful manner

qualifications

  • Experience in Arts Administration, Fine Arts, Project Management, or Communications, or an equivalent combination of training and experience

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with strong attention to detail

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

  • Comfortable with public-facing duties such as speaking at events and welcoming visitors

  • Proficiency with basic office and digital communication tools (e.g., Google Drive, Mailchimp, Canva, Squarespace or similar platforms)

  • Experience working with artists, exhibitions, or arts programming considered a strong asset

  • A valid driver’s license or ability to travel independently
