Call for artist profiles & curator profiles
This Town Is Small is looking for visual/interdisciplinary artists and curators interested in contributing to their programming in 2027.
This Town Is Small (TTIS) has implemented an alternative approach to its traditional submission processes in an effort to foster connection and build relationships with and between professional artists. A rolling call for profiles was designed to encourage artists and curators to share the work they are currently engaged with. This approach will allow TTIS’s programming to better reflect the interests, methodological approaches and emergent themes currently being explored by the Island’s vibrant arts community.
By submitting their profiles annually, artists and curators can keep TTIS up to date on the work they are currently exploring (Current Works in Progress); their recently completed bodies of work (Exhibition Ready Work); and the Curatorial Projects they are interested in. Submitting an artist or curatorial profile to TTIS is a way to introduce your practice, share the ideas and themes your work explores, and highlight the unique perspectives you bring to your work. TTIS welcomes submissions by professional artists and curators (both emerging and established) working in all disciplines.
How are profiles reviewed?
At least once a year, a jury will review all profiles submitted in the previous year for specific opportunities, including exhibitions, events, workshops, development opportunities, possible collaborations, and more.
When making selections, staff, curators and juries will prioritize artistic merit, alignment with TTIS’s mission and values, and project impact (the work’s potential to enrich both the artist's practice and the local community). Artists are encouraged to update all applicable profiles on an annual basis.
